Vinca can be evergreen subshrubs or herbaceous perennials, with simple, paired leaves and solitary, 5-lobed, salver-shaped flowers in the leaf axils
‘Illumination’ is an evergreen perennial mat-forming perennial with variegated foliage that emerges as chartreuse with green edging in spring. The chartreuse centres gradually become golden yellow and then cream as the leaves mature. Star-shaped, periwinkle-blue flowers appear in late spring and continue through summer, contrasting well with the gold and green foliage. Happy in sun or shade, Vincas make excellent ground cover, but can become invasive if left unchecked.
Propagate by division in spring or autumn and by semi-hardwood cuttings in summer
Can get aphids
May be subject to a rust
