“Bats are fascinating creatures and have a long life if living in the right conditions. They are useful for controlling mosquitoes and gnats, which they track with their sophisticated hearing system. Bats are also protected species in the UK. The Just Bat Box is designed to be fitted onto trees, posts or houses and provides ideal conditions for bats to roost in. The design incorporates an access ladder with grooves, which the batscan grip. The box should e sited 2-5 metres from the ground. If you are having more than 1 bat box, face in different directions; facing South east and south west. There should be a clear flight path in front of the boxes. Place near to night-scented plants to attract night flying insects. Bats also like to be near water, where mosquito larvae are hatching, so place near ponds or slow moving streams if possible. Size 25 x 20 x 15cms.”
